Why PEACE-TAYO?

I heard these two words (PEACE TAYO) many times. And I liked the active extension and recognition of the value of peace with others in what I had heard and seen in Peace Tayo.

For example, a rock band was playing its popular song. Raucous audience composed mostly of youngsters was stirred into a hysteric wave of banging bodies in sync with the rock music. Then, the shoving and banging of human bodies got a bit out of control and turned into chaotic mass of banging human bodies. The lead singer appealed and reached out to the "bangers," peace tayo (let us be peace or in peace).

Now, I believe it's time these words put into actions.

Peace Tayo is an offering of oneself for peace. It is an invitation to join a cause, a reminder of a pact and pledge for humanity, and a commitment for peaceful means and ends.

Peace Tayo reaches out to youth and organizations. We believe that we can not simply accept the social realities as they are in which we are - conflicts, violence, poverty, corruption, apathy, helplessness, and hopelessness. We can not give up on our shared realities nor the youth who will shape the future. We need organizations to expand the space for the youth to get involved and engage the ill realities we all confront.

Peace Tayo is a call for actions, transformative actions that remake our social realities.

Peace Tayo is our action. That's why Peace-Tayo. Peace, stand.
